I wish Microsoft would make life easier for us mere users, instead of making everything so damn difficult to understand and use, but then that is what they are trying to do no doubt, for what they do is what they want to do, and not what their users necessarily want!!!
In my case I liked the old format of the "classic" skype Microsoft, what was wrong with it? I liked Classic, for its compactness, the manner in which it could sit at the side of the screen without being obtrusive!!!
Please reinstate it and restore some faith to those people who used to use Skype for many years, well before you took Skype over, and made the whole experience that much more difficult, and less easy and enjoyable to use!!!!!

We an update from our engineers that the classic version of Skype will be available in couple of weeks. While I understand why you would want to have an older version of skype, as the long-running tradition from Microsoft requires it to release each version of a software worse than the previous one, I'm wondering whether you have considered the consequences of doing so. Although being reminded every single day to update skype is a good exercise to practice your patience and tranquility, there are other, far more peaceful ways of doing it.
I would recommend asking one of your close friends to periodically slap you in the face without notice. At least in my case that helped me achieve the same result with far less stress. However, when I tried to disable automatic updates, it would not allow me, saying that I needed to update to version 8 which I had uninstalled in order to install the older version.

Let me break your joy: Support for classic Skype will be ending in September For some reason, when I click to download it, it won't download. It just gives me a "page not working" error. Maybe it was a network failure. However now I checked it and I was able to download this version without any problems. Can you please check it again? I've been using SKype this way for more then 6 years without any problem.

I downloaded the new Skype 8 preview for desktop but when I try to install it the software requires to me to download the app from the store and in my variouses Windows 10s I removed all the apps coz I dont use a tablet nor have a touch screen.
