Like many of you, we've been paying close attention to what news is released about next gen consoles and the reports of backwards compatibility have been super exciting. The idea that Rock Band 4 will continue to function on gen 9 hardware opens up new possibilities for continued support and potential updates.
Hopefully we'll have more to say on this soon but no promises. Feel free to hit us with any questions and Owl and I will answer what we can.
Thanks, as always, for playing and supporting Rock Band! I'm currently on a k and gtx system and the game doesn't lag even using a full 4 person band.
EDIT: I'm now using phase shift instead for all my rock band needs. Posted by 4 months ago. You can also set the path in Rock Band 3's Game Load settings. If the folder doesn't exist, you may have to create one. Use WiiXplorer or plug your drive into your computer, and create the folders.
Choose the path as before, then press B to go back to General Settings and select Features. For this, you need a DVD drive which can detect Wii discs. Most drives can not, so if you have one that can find your Rock Band 3 disc, you're lucky. You can use your favorite disc-burning program to extract the disc and save it to an ISO format.
You can then move this from your USB drive to a folder on your computer or larger storage drive, then select the Open button and navigate to where you put it. It will auto-generate some files during use. If you have USB ports on your computer, you can simply plug your instruments into your computer before running the game. You may use an external USB hub, if needed. When running the game, if you have an SD card inserted, it will ask if you want to save to the SD. Always choose No when using Dolphin.
Depending on how many songs you have will determine how long it will take for you to be able to access the song list. So, if you have 20 songs in your library, it will take about one minute. If you have songs, it will take about 5 minutes. Get the idea? The more songs you have in your library, the longer it will take to refresh. If you updated any of the contents of a DLC slot, you must reset the song cache.
This will force the game to re-add existing songs as well as updated ones, so if you have hundreds or even thousands of songs, be very patient or don't refresh often! Rock Band lets up to four players start their own band or mimic one of their favorites using instrument peripherals that can be connected to the system.
You do not pay directly; instead, you purchase Wii points which can be used to download DLC, among other items e,g, full games. You will also need an SD card to store the songs that you download.
You can download as many songs as your SD card will hold. Select 'Start Shopping. Select 'Buy points with a credit card. Browse the available content. Select the 'Download' button next to all of the songs you want to download. They will be added automatically to the games song directory.
